Mental illnesses are conditions that affect your thinking, feeling, mood, and behavior. They may be occasional or long-lasting (chronic). They can affect your ability to relate to others and function each day.
Now a days many of the people faces mental illness and most of us take it normal if we see some one having some stress . everyone has some risk of developing a mental illness no matter their age , sex, income .
Many people have mental health concerns from time to time. But a mental health concern becomes a mental illness when ongoing signs and symptoms cause frequent stress and affect your ability to function.
- socioeconomic conditions, such whether work is available in the local area
- failure
- a person’s level of social involvement
- education
- housing quality
- A mother's exposure to viruses or toxic chemical while pregnant
- Use of alcohol or drugs

Treatment
There are various methods for managing mental health problems.
- Psychotherapy, or talking therapies
This type of treatment takes a psychological approach to treating mental illness.
- Medication
Some people take prescribed medications, such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anxiolytic drugs.
- Self-help
A person coping with mental health difficulties will usually need to make changes to their lifestyle to facilitate wellness. they should involve into social gathering ,do meditation take healthy and balanced diet.
What we can do to help our loved ones who are suffering from mental illness
- Ask the tough question: “Are you considering suicide?”
- Listen to the person without judgment.
- Stay with the person until professional help arrives.
- Try to remove any weapons, medications, or other potentially harmful objects.
- Try to find the solution of problem they are facing
Some times the solution of the problem people need might be small for us but can be life saving for them.
